Object · 2024
A vase designed to be picked up.
Vessel 02 is a slip-cast stoneware vase with an unglazed exterior and a glazed interior. Its weight sits low, and a soft ridge marks where the hand should hold it.

Challenge
Slip casting tends to produce thin, light walls. The vessel needed weight to feel considered.
Approach
The mould was redesigned with a thicker base section, and the ridge was refined over nine plaster models.
Result
Shown at Open Studio Days and produced in a small edition with a ceramic workshop in Copenhagen.
