Seating · 2024
One geometry, repeated into benches, steps and islands.
Stack is a modular seating system designed for foyers, stations and other places people pass through. A single plywood module interlocks with its neighbours to form complex arrangements.
Challenge
Public seating must survive heavy use, be cleaned easily and adapt to spaces that change with each exhibition.
Approach
Simple interlocking joints connect modules without hardware. Staff can reconfigure an entire foyer in under an hour.
Result
Sixty modules were installed in the Kunsthal foyer and reconfigured for four exhibitions in the first year.
